A 26-year-old Saskatoon man has been arrested in connection with the ramming of two police vehicles in Kindersley.
Donovan Straightnose was arrested by Hanna RCMP on Sunday following an unrelated incident.
Straightnose is charged with two counts of assaulting a police officer with a weapon, possession of proceeds of a crime under $5,000, operating a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner and failing to comply with release order conditions.
Late Saturday afternoon, RCMP received a report of a fuel theft from a Kindersley business. The truck had a license plate that indicated it was stolen July 29th in Calgary.
About an hour later, RCMP were told the truck was at different business in Kindersley. Officers attempted to block the truck in, but the driver rammed into two RCMP cruisers causing significant damage. Fortunately, no officers were injured but the truck eluded police.
