A recent poll has revealed widespread anxiety among Americans regarding grocery costs. The survey found that a staggering 86% of U.S. adults are at least somewhat stressed about the rising price of everyday food items. Approximately half of respondents characterized grocery expenses as a “major” source of financial strain, while a third cited it as a “minor” concern. Only 14% reported no stress whatsoever about this issue. Notably, this worry transcends age and income brackets. Even Americans over 60, who tend to experience less anxiety about housing, savings, and debt, express equal trepidation over grocery bills. Other financial pressures, such as housing and bank account balances, weigh more heavily on younger demographics. Additionally, the survey found that Women and Hispanic adults reported particularly high levels of stress across multiple financial categories. (Newser)
