Research indicates that six out of ten people profess to disliking foods they have never even sampled. A survey of 2,000 adults revealed they typically refuse to consume eight foods, with five of those being items they have never tasted. Among the most commonly disliked foods without prior experience are sushi, black pudding, kimchi, plant-based cheese alternatives, and anchovies. Tofu, liver, and plant-based milk substitutes also appeared in the top ten. Paradoxically, 65% of respondents claimed to have adventurous palates, and 74% said they are willing to try new culinary offerings. Despite their self-proclaimed openness, 65% of adults admit to negatively judging foods before trying them, though 53% change their minds after sampling. (Talking Points)
