A recent study conducted by MetLife surveyed 1,000 pet owners and found that 31% of respondents would consider dating a human version of their pet if it was created using artificial intelligence. Additionally, nearly 80% of participants stated that their pets provide better emotional support than their previous human partners. Despite the potential for romantic relationships with AI versions of their pets, around 40% of pet owners expressed concerns that these creations could exhibit problematic behaviors such as needing constant attention, being overly clingy, lacking boundaries, or showing signs of jealousy and territoriality. However, the majority of respondents (90%) believe they would get along with their pet if it were human, with 45% even speculating that they could be friends. (Newser)
