During an interview on a new episode of Bunnie XO‘s podcast, Dumb Blonde, Dolly Parton reminisced about the memorable times she spent with Johnny and June Carter Cash. Parton revealed that over the years, she eventually became “best friends” with the celebrated couple. According to Dolly, Johnny “was a real nice guy and very quiet,” while she and June shared some of the same personal qualities. “She was a loudmouth like me, so we got along just fine,” Parton joked. Parton shared a hilarious story about an interaction Johnny had about his wife. “I remember when somebody said something about, ‘Johnny, don’t you get tired of hearing June talk all the time?’ And he said, ‘No. I do some of my best thinking when June’s talking.’” The 78-year-old country legend went on to say the same might be true of her husband of nearly sixty years, Carl Dean. “That’s kind of like my husband!” Dolly said. “I think he does some of his best thinking when I’m talking.” (People)
