Back in 1995, while Mariah Carey was busy recording her chart-topping, Grammy-nominated album, Daydream, the pop diva also recorded an unreleased alt-rock album with her band called, Someone’s Ugly Daughter. On new episode of Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers’ Las Culturistas podcast, Carey discussed her long-lost grunge record that has been sitting unheard in her archives for thirty years. “I’m so mad I haven’t done that yet,” Carey admitted about her desire to release the rock album. Mimi disclosed that there are logistical issues preventing her from sharing it, including how she would release such a radically different project than her fans are used to hearing from her. “Who do I drop it with?” she asked, with Rogers suggesting she release it via GarageBand. “I could do that,” Carey continued. “It’s a good album. OK, you will hear it. I was getting life from that, seriously. It was jokes, as well. They’re everlasting.” (Billboard)
