Kendrick Lamar made sure to make his hometown of Compton, California look good in the new music video for his No. 1 hit, “Not Like Us.” In addition to helping promote Lamar’s music, the video has also done a terrific job in boosting the business of the local burger joint featured prominently in the clip, Tam’s Burgers No. 21. In the video, K. Dot and Mustard stylishly roll up to the burger spot on Rosecrans Avenue in a black 2021 Ferrari, making fast food look fashionable and significantly raising the profile of Tam’s. Since the video first aired, Tam’s has seen a major increase in their business as well as their cultural recognition. Tam’s revealed that they’ve seen a 40% increase in sales of late, with many of their customers ordering Kendrick’s go-to favorite, the bacon cheeseburger. Tam’s also shared that they are contemplating naming a menu item after their most famous local customer. (Billboard)
